Major service for a 2024 Peugeot 308 in Belgrade

This 2024 Peugeot 308 with a 1.5 BlueHDi diesel engine came to our workshop for a complete major service.

The work included:

• timing belt replacement - water pump replacement - coolant replacement - engine oil replacement - filter replacement - inspection of all related components

Special attention should be paid to the camshaft chain on the 1.5 BlueHDi engine.

Earlier versions of this engine were equipped with a 7 mm camshaft chain. Over time, the chain can stretch and, in the worst case, break, potentially causing serious engine damage.

For earlier versions, the recommended solution is to replace the 7 mm chain with the updated 8 mm version together with the camshaft bed and camshafts.

Peugeot 308 models from 2023–2024 already come from the factory with the 8 mm chain.

That is why a major service should include not only the timing belt system, but also inspection of the camshaft chain and other known weak points of this engine.
